1. What is Temporary Resident Registration Form?

2. When should I get the temporary resident Registration Form? Do I need to get a new temporary resident Registration Form everytime when I come back from aboard?

As follows, I would like to answer your questions one by one.

1. What is Temporary Resident Registration Form?

Once you get into China in 24 hours(72 hours for villages),you would need a Temporary Resident Registration Form.

That means,you have to go and record your residence at the local police station so that they know you are here.

2. When should I get the temporary resident Registration Form? Do I need to get a new temporary resident Registration Form everytime when I come back from aboard?

Generally,there are 3 situations that you would need to get the temporary resident Registration Form:

1. Everytime when you hold a new visa entering into China within 24 hours(village 72 hours);

2. Everytime after you get a new resident permit;

3. Everytime when you come back from aboard or another city.

Tips: 

1. Many foreigners have reversed the order to get a new temporary resident registration form.They would not get this until they need to extend their stay for a new resident permit.

However,you actually need to provide a temporary resident registration form from the time right after your old resident permit just issued to the time you gonna get a new one. 

That means,the right time to get a temporary resident registration form is right after you get a new resident permit.

2. Also,even if you get the resident permit to stay in China,it is better that you go to record your residence at the local police station everytime you come back from aboard or other cities.

3. Failure to have your newest residence recorded, you would take the risk to be caught at the street by policemen and pay fines.
